Frequently asked questions

Why should I go through you, a broker?

I help make health insurance simple. A standard consultation and general guidance are totally free — the insurance carriers pay me, not you.

If you want extra support, like checking if your doctors take certain plans, walking you through enrollment step by step, or getting help throughout the year, that’s part of my premium concierge service. It’s a low-cost way to get personalized, hands-on care whenever you need it.

Do you have access to Marketplace/Obamacare/ACA plans?

Yes, I have access to plans available through the Health Insurance Marketplace (Obamacare/ACA). I can help you navigate the Marketplace, understand your eligibility for subsidies, and find a plan that fits your needs and budget, should you decide to enroll in a Marketplace plan.

What if I only need insurance for a couple of months?

If you only need insurance for a short period, there are short-term health insurance plans available in some states that can provide coverage for a few months. These plans are typically less expensive and can be a good solution for temporary gaps in coverage. Most Marketplace plans are also month-to-month coverage.

I don't understand anything about insurance. Are you able to teach me?

Absolutely! I'm here to help you understand the basics of insurance, including the different types of coverage, how premiums and deductibles work, and what to look for in a policy. My goal is to ensure you feel confident and informed when making your insurance decisions.

How do you make money?

Compensation for brokers works differently depending on the state and the type of plan. In New York, most Marketplace plans do not pay broker commissions, so when I help you enroll in those, I’m not paid by the insurance company.

No matter where you live, my basic consultations are free, and any premium concierge services are optional and clearly explained. My guidance is always centered on your needs, not on how a plan compensates brokers.
